Research in the United States measured the job satisfaction, job performance and personal wellbeing
(a measure of psychological health) of managers found at a large customer service business. The researchers found that for people with high levels of personal wellbeing (PWB) there was a strong relationship between job satisfaction and performance. However, for people with low levels of PWB there was no relationship between job satisfaction and performance. Healthy employees work better and therefore provide greater gains for the company.
